Ok. So I am obsessed with Ally Carter, just wanted to let you all know. I devoured her Heist Society books and completely fell in love with her Gallagher Girls Series. I mean, a school for spies! How cool is that! When I found out that she was coming up with a new series I was so excited and a little mad because she has to take time off from Heist Society in order to have the series take off. Which is a bummer because I need to find out Hale's real name and I love Kat and Hale. I am desperate for the next book.... anyways... I thought the concept of All Fall Down was great. I mean, Grace is trying to find out who killed her mother even though no one believes her and thinks that she is crazy all while living in a U.S embassy in Adria, which is a fictional country (I checked) haha. Not to mention a Russian guy named Alexi who is Grace's protecter. Can you say potential romance? Well, thats what I thought. I thought Grace would be a little bit stronger like Kat and Cammie in her other books but I was wrong. Grace can be annoying, to put it lightly. She is immature, reckless and possibly suicidal. I didn't even feel for Grace at all. She was a spoiled brat who I wanted to clop on the head to make her shut up! Honestly, the entire book is a nutshell is this: "Someone killed my mom, I can prove it!" "No, Grace! Your mom died in a fire, you're delusional!" "The scared man did it, I'll find him by doing reckless things that can kill me and possibly others all the while possibly starting a war!" Okay. So in Adria there is an empty embassy that used to belong to Iran. Everyone says not to go in because it can start a war. Really? Can going into an EMBASSY cause a war? I mean its just a building, how can that start a war? Also, there was this part where Grace was traveling ALONE in tunnels that run under the city of Adria, following the scared man, she tried to get a way and ended up in the German Embassy. She was then asked, again, If she was trying to start a war. So a sixteen year old American girl can start a war with the Germans by just showing up unannounced in their embassy? Yeah... I don't think thats how wars start, Ally Carter. The supporting characters weren't even that interesting either. Her "Best friend" Noah was pining for the beautiful Megan who happens to be Grace's old friend who she thought was only her friend because their was no other kids for them to play with. I mean really? If their was no one else to be around but you and she choose to hang out with you instead of watch tv it means that she was your friend. Honestly, there were some parts that I liked but the rest really sucked. It was not Ally Carter's best. Not at all. In the future, I hope that Grace doesn't act as whiny and pathetic as she does. I think that I liked the 12 year old German girl named Rosie better than Grace. She didn't whine as much and had more backbone. Grace can take a few tips from her in that department.
I give this book 2 running shoes out of five.

What if your boyfriend was the world's biggest rockstar?
Sterling is crazy in love with Ethan. Not only is he the sweetest boy she's ever met, but he's an incredibly talented guitarist, singer, and songwriter. And since forever, he's believed he has what it takes to be a star.
When Ethan becomes an overnight sensation, he's thrown head-first into the glam world of celebrity-and so is Sterling. Before she knows it, she's attending red-carpet premieres, getting free designer clothes, and flying around the country to attend Ethan's monumental sold-out concerts.
It's a dream come true...but whose dream is Sterling living? And what do you do when "forever" comes to an end?
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Dating a rockstar sounds amazing right? Wrong. Sterling was ignored by Ethan who was just a straight up pig. I honestly don't get why she stayed with him. The entire time I was yelling at her in my head to step away and run. The first clue to run should have been when they were out to dinner one night and he ordered a mushroom burger because his trainer wanted him to "stay fit". I would have fled right there. Throughout the entire book it shows how Ethan changed, I guess? But I think that he was always that way and him becoming famous was just the tipping point to show his true colors. He completely ignores Sterling and disregards her dreams of becoming a chef and making videos for cooking on youtube when she was completely supportive of his dreams since forever. When she tells Ethan that she is thinking of making a video diary he thinks it is for him and then when she explains he calls it stupid. Honestly, why didn't she run there? That is what got me pissed at this book. Here she is, a girl who is living an amazing life. She has a rockstar boyfriend and gets all of the designer clothes but she is not happy. All the girls pretend like they know her boyfriend better than she does and ignore her existence. And so does Ethan! He completely and totally ignores Sterling. I get that he is famous and you get awesome clothes but I would have left immediately. And I guess it is no surprise that Sterling starts to talk a lot to Damian who works on the concert sets. But I really didn't like him either. Yeah, he was there for her and all, more than Ethan was, but still... He's about twenty and works as a groupie basically for different bands... I was glad <Spoiler!>
When she didn't agree for Damian to come with her to college. I mean, that was way too fast! He was all, There's a concert center where you are, I could work there and finally settle down in one place instead of moving all over the place... You can finally be my anchor, Sterling.
Ok. Well maybe it didn't entirely go like that. But it was close. And <Another spoiler but if you read this far you probably don't care anyway>
I can't believe that out of all the crap that Ethan did to Sterling that it took him sleeping with another girl to break up. I mean, where is her self respect! I would have left him sooner. And thank god she didn't take him back at the end. I would have died if she did. Oh, and her friend was such a b@#$%! I get that they were friends and all but if my friend ditched me for people who were mean to her just because they "Showed her attention" I would have been all like ok. Buh-by now. Her friend was jealous of Sterling I guess but I would have thought her friends to be more supportive... And I guess she was mad at Sterling ditching her for Ethan but when she asked for those autographs for the people who were so mean to her and Sterling I would have stopped being her friend. Sterling had little back bone and she only found it when it was about to break. And her friend also had a weird plant obsession and so did Sterling a little bit. I mean , there was a plant funeral in the book which was just plain bizarre. Ok. Well sorry for this little rant.

Anne Dowling practically runs her exclusive academy on New York’s Upper East Side — that is, until she accidentally burns part of it down and gets sent to a prestigious boarding school outside of Boston. Determined to make it back to New York, Anne could care less about making friends at the preppy Wheatley School. That is, until her roommate, Isabella’s body is found in the woods behind the school. When everyone else is oddly silent, Anne becomes determined to uncover the truth no matter how many rules she has to break to do it. With the help of Isabella’s twin brother Anthony, and a cute classmate named Brent, Anne discovers that Isabella wasn’t quite the innocent nerdy girl she pretended to be. But someone will do anything to stop Anne’s snooping in this fast-paced, unputdownable read — even if it means framing her for Isabella’s murder.
.........................
This book was sooo good! I finished it in under a day. Anne was smart and funny and sassy... I just loved her. The mystery in this book was really great and kept me guessing until the very last page. The romance was sweet and cute but not cheesy... I also liked how it didn't revolve around romance but the murder, and how it was just something that was there but not barely there. Anne is my new favorite heroine and I can't wait till I get my hands on the next book...which is already out... And the third book which should be out in August! I liked how Anne could come up with snappy comments on short notice, but a thing I didn't like was now she barely connected with anyone.... That is not of the male gender. She kept blowing Remy off which made me sad because she seems like a nice friend for Anne. If you like fast paced adventure where you are guessing till the last page, this book is for you! And if you like guys who ride motorcycles and who are named Anthony read this book! Can you already tell that I want Anne and Anthony together? No? Well I do.
Fans of gossip girl and Veronica Mars will love this trilogy!

You take it for granted. Waking up. Going to school, talking to your friends. Watching a show on television or reading a book or going out to lunch.
You take for granted going to sleep at night, getting up the next day, and remembering everything that happened to you before you closed your eyes.
You live and you remember.
Me, I live and I forget.
But now—now I am remembering.
For all of her seventeen years, Molly feels like she’s missed bits and pieces of her life. Now, she’s figuring out why. Now, she’s remembering her own secrets. And in doing so, Molly uncovers the separate life she seems to have led…and the love that she can’t let go.
The Half Life of Molly Pierce is a suspenseful, evocative psychological mystery about uncovering the secrets of our pasts, facing the unknowns of our futures, and accepting our whole selves.

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced readers copy just two days ago. Yes. I finished this book so fast because it was that good. But first let me get to the review. Ok. I will not lie to you guys when I say that this book was a hell of a lot confusing in the beginning. It starts of with the heroine, Molly, coming to in her car and driving. Only she has no idea when she got there. And this is not the first time this has happened to her. Recently Molly has been missing blocks of time and she has no idea what the hell happened. Then Molly is driving home and she sees a boy on a motorcycle driving too fast. She knows what is going to happen before it does--she knows that he is going to crash. But then she realizes something--the boy was trying to catch up to her--but why? Then the inevitable happens and the boy hits the back of a car and goes flying over her car right in front of her car and she almost hits him. She gets out and cradles his head and takes off his helmet. The boy seems to know her though, this boy calls her by a strange name--Mabel. She thinks it's a case of mistaken identity until the boy calls her Molly. And so begins the awesomely strange book that is the Half Life of Molly Pierce. I also have to admit something else though. The names in this book were kind of stupid. If they were normal names I think I would have liked this book a lot more which sounds weird but that is just me. For example, Molly's best friend is named Erie. Like the canal. Why not name her Erica? And her other best friend is Luka. With a k. Why not just Luca? And don't get me started on the strange boys that Molly is beginning to remember names. The boy on the motorcycle is named -- get ready -- Lyle and his brother is named Sayer. Sorry for being weird but that is just me. And let's get on with this review. Ok. So after seeing Lyle get killed on the motorcycle she starts to feel a weird connection with his brother. Like they have attraction with each other, or history. But how can that be with someone you just met? But then Molly starts to remember everything. She remembers Sayer and Lyle. She loved them both, one as a friend and one as a lover. It turns out that Molly's blackouts were from her alter ego Mabel who led a different life that Molly wasn't aware of until the memories start to pour out. I feel as if I am giving way too much away so you guys will have to read it for yourself when it comes out July eighth. It sounds weird but it is so good and amazing. I was hooked from the first page and I promise that you guys will be too!
I give this book

The premise was simple: five kids, just living their lives. There’d be a new movie about them every five years, starting in kindergarten. But no one could have predicted what the cameras would capture. And no one could have predicted that Justine would be the star. Now sixteen, Justine doesn’t feel like a star anymore. In fact, when she hears the crew has gotten the green light to film "Five at Sixteen," all she feels is dread. The kids who shared the same table in kindergarten have become teenagers who hardly know one another. And Justine, who was so funny and edgy in the first two movies, just feels like a disappointment. But these teens have a bond that goes deeper than what’s on film. They’ve all shared the painful details of their lives with countless viewers. They all know how it feels to have fans as well as friends. So when this latest movie gives them the chance to reunite, Justine and her costars are going to take it. Because sometimes, the only way to see yourself is through someone else’s eyes.

5/5 running shoes
I seriously loved this book from start to finish. The characters develop right in front of you, so that was fun to see. This is told in the perspective of Justine, one of the five that have been chosen all the way back when they were six to do a documentary every 5 years until they were 21. In the beginning, Justine was doubting herself. She didn't think they were going to do another movie and when she does, she is caught off guard. She thinks that she could have lost more weight, or did this or yadda and she thinks that everyone will be disappointed in how she is now. After reading a web site about the documentaries and she sees the comments they made about her, she is worried that she won't be able to be what they want. In the website, they say that she probably joined a band, did this and she feels as if she isn't as funny now as she way back when she was eleven and six. The book is mainly about Justine finding her purpose and Kiera finding her mother along with Diego, Nate, and Rory.
While at a "retreat" at a cabin set up by film makers Leslie and Lance to get more interesting film material, Kiera, after getting information about her mother, who left when she was eleven, steals Leslie's car, phone, and wallet during the night to find her. Justine, Nate, Diego, and Rory then set off the find her along with Leslie's camera. During the journey to find her, Justine videotapes everything, and she tells their story rather than Leslie and Lance. I liked how broken relationships were repaired , especially Rory and Justine's relationship. I also liked how Jennifer Castle somewhat accurately showed how Rory acted with her autism. All the feelings in the book, although sometimes jagged, felt real, and that made the book even easier to read and funner. Kiera's reunion with her mom was sweet yet sad, but perfect. Really, everything was perfect In this book. Nate and Justine's relationship was really sweet and un cheesy, which I appreciated. It was nice to have a steady dose of realism in a world filled with make believe!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03652985866606364577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-444242340841515667.post-42348597818318262852014-06-04T20:24:00.000-04:002014-06-04T20:24:56.810-04:00Waiting on Wednesday <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilZ2AH2Xny8GH2z5vJWcdEyUTvluithvHtKJ8kzb41GMLosgfC9d1Qc-x6uGqk3mwwfc4YnqCrzyuDklvcwBgKyFn660q_16f2IBRgHHQTv1WoMhKjcEJe5Ku9-8ncM-Y9Afbt5OA8zTrT/s1600/image.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilZ2AH2Xny8GH2z5vJWcdEyUTvluithvHtKJ8kzb41GMLosgfC9d1Qc-x6uGqk3mwwfc4YnqCrzyuDklvcwBgKyFn660q_16f2IBRgHHQTv1WoMhKjcEJe5Ku9-8ncM-Y9Afbt5OA8zTrT/s400/image.jpg" /></a></div>

Teen pregnancy is never easy—especially not when extraterrestrials are involved. The first in a new trilogy.
Elvie Nara was doing just fine in the year 2074. She had a great best friend, a dad she adored, and bright future working on the Ares Project on Mars. But then she had to get involved with sweet, gorgeous, dumb-as-a-brick Cole--and now she’s pregnant.
Getting shipped off to the Hanover School for Expecting Teen Mothers was not how Elvie imagined spending her junior year, but she can go with the flow. That is, until a team of hot commandos hijacks the ship--and one of them turns out to be Cole. She hasn’t seen him since she told him she’s pregnant, and now he’s bursting into her new home to tell her that her teachers are aliens and want to use her unborn baby to repopulate their species? Nice try, buddy. You could have just called.
So fine, finding a way off this ship is priority number one, but first Elvie has to figure out how Cole ended up as a commando, work together with her arch-nemesis, and figure out if she even wants to be a mother--assuming they get back to Earth in one piece.

My review
This was just not some sob story About how a girl got pregnant and was dumped at some weird pregnancy school somewhat in the near future. No. This book was about Elvie, a girl who is funny, knows about mechanics, and actually is smart! Yay for not being an average bimbo like everyone in ya literature now! I laughed so hard I thought I would cry, and if that wasn't enough, add it some aliens, including an Almiri called Bryon, who happens to be no one other than James Bryon Dean!
It turns out, the pregnancy school was started by a rival race of aliens who plan to switch the almiri babies into their babies .....drama! But anyway, I loved how Elvie had a clear head when things got messed up as well as her sass even though things got pretty messed up during it, she never faltered. And her "baby daddy" cole never seemed to call even when she got pregnant, and she never let it control her life, or go on about it and cry. She persevered through everything, which shows that she could be a great role model, better then most in literature even though she got preggers. Whoops.
Things I liked:
Elvie and her sass
The amount of times this book made me laugh
Ducky, Elvies ah-mazing bestie
Britta vs Elvie face offs
Cole, even though he was a bimbo sometimes
Elvies talks with "goober"
Things I didn't like:
Practically nothing! I loved it
QUOTES:
Just do your breathing exercises." He leans over the backseat and grabs my hand. "Come on. That's it. Hoo-hoo-hoo, hee-hee-hee. Hoo-hoo-hoo...' 'Keep that up,' I warn him, wincing around another contraction, 'and I'm going to hit you right in your "hoo-hoo”
I give this book 5/5 running shoes! There are two sides to every breakup.
This is Jordan and Courtney, totally in love. Sure, they were an unlikely high school couple. But they clicked; it worked. They're even going to the same college, and driving cross-country together for orientation.
Then Jordan dumps Courtney -- for a girl he met on the Internet.
It's too late to change plans, so the road trip is on. Courtney's heartbroken, but figures she can tough it out for a few days. La la la -- this is Courtney pretending not to care.
But in a strange twist, Jordan cares. A lot.
Turns out, he's got a secret or two that he's not telling Courtney. And it has everything to do with why they broke up, why they can't get back together, and how, in spite of it all, this couple is destined for each other.
*****************************************************************************************************************************
I remember reading Lauren Barnholdt all the way back in middle school when I read her book, the secret identity of Devon Delaney. That book was filled with enough drama and lies to get me really into reading, so I thank her for that. While wandering the library shelves, I (thank fully) stumbled across this book. Two way street is about the very complEX (haha, get it? Ok...no? ) relationship of Courtney Mcsweeny and Jordan. Because they were both going to Boston Uni, while dating, they decided that they will drive together.... to Boston from Florida... But then they break up, due to something Jordan saw when he went home early from a party, involving Courtney's dad and Jordan's mom... Talk about drama. Even though they are broken up, they still go, and the trip is filled with enough tension but not too much, and some revelations and heart felt talks to make it awesome and sweet. The flashbacks were a nice touch but left stuff un answered and there were some holes in the book...for example, when the hell was Courtney's ID stolen? But overall, it was pretty good.
Cons:The flashbacks left some stuff unanswered
The holes
Confusion at times
Pros:I thought that Courtney and Jordan's relationship, although complex, was very cute in the end
Uhmmm, it's a road trip book. I love those kinds of books
Jocelyn and B.Js relationship was very funny
Stars: 4 1/2

Firstly, the cover jumped out at me first. The braid was so pretty, yet haunting. In this book we follow 13 year old Kyra. Kyra is a polygamist and is isolated from the outside world. Kyra has 20 brothers and sisters and her father has three wives. In the book, these wifes are called Sister wifes. Kyra visits the Library on Wheels which is forbidden because books were banned. She secretly reads them in a tree, or in her family van. Kyra secretly visits her crush, Joshua. They both hope to choose each other instead of Kyra having a man appointed to her. However, everything changes when the prophet visits her family saying that he had a vision from god of Kyra and Hyram, her 60 year old uncle. She is to be wed to him even though he is family, 60 years old, and already has 7 sister wives. Her father tries to talk the prophet out of it but each attempt fails. Kyra tries to run by fails the first time with patrick, the man who drives the Books on wheels truck. She tells Patrick her story, and he offers to help her. She obliges, but the plan is foiled by the god squad. She is surprized when she is just returned to her family, because the last girl who tried to run was killed. She attemps again later on with a spare key in the truck that Patrick told her about. The god squad is hot on her trail, and then the phone that Patrick told her about makes a sound (Chirrup) like he told her it would. She calls the police and the god squad is arrested. Kyra is then put in a foster home. Her foster mother ran away from another colt and brought her child with her. (her child is now around Kyra’s age) She told Kyra that she missed her family too (Not her sister wives) and it was hard even with her child, so she told Kyra it might even be harder for her. Kyra misses all of her siblings, mainly Laura and her baby sister. The ending is nice. Kyra is going to someday look for Joshua (Who had to leave along with a few others) a tree is scraping across the window (I forgot the name, but its the name of the tree that Kyra reads in).
I give this story

Some parts make you laugh, cry, and boil in side due to pure anger. such as (How can that happen! She is a girl!)
I really hope that this doesn’t happen in the US, other wise i will go to the nearest one and rescue all the girls from this happening.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03652985866606364577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-444242340841515667.post-25730029467253892152013-07-26T18:01:00.002-04:002013-07-26T18:01:51.098-04:00the book of broken hearts by sarah Ockler<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiusacEU5lQmsqo4TSq30PWTq7SZap-k8NWM7nWvVc-Qk39wH9Zcj0LqPQTm6exVvUXNHysYHTbUeHpG6ipzbZYaguOaq9HjYnNdxn48H7rGiB6yqbRdYCw5agRHtrqSzFj7PpE46qrbsmH/s1600/15805597.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiusacEU5lQmsqo4TSq30PWTq7SZap-k8NWM7nWvVc-Qk39wH9Zcj0LqPQTm6exVvUXNHysYHTbUeHpG6ipzbZYaguOaq9HjYnNdxn48H7rGiB6yqbRdYCw5agRHtrqSzFj7PpE46qrbsmH/s320/15805597.jpg" /></a></div>
Jude has learned a lot from her older sisters, but the most important thing is this: The Vargas brothers are notorious heartbreakers. She’s seen the tears and disasters that dating a Vargas boy can cause, and she swore an oath—with candles and a contract and everything—to never have anything to do with one.
Now Jude is the only sister still living at home, and she’s spending the summer helping her ailing father restore his vintage motorcycle—which means hiring a mechanic to help out. Is it Jude’s fault he happens to be cute? And surprisingly sweet? And a Vargas?
Jude tells herself it’s strictly bike business with Emilio. Her sisters will never find out, and Jude can spot those flirty little Vargas tricks a mile away—no way would she fall for them. But Jude’s defenses are crumbling, and if history is destined to repeat itself, she’s speeding toward some serious heartbreak…unless her sisters were wrong?
Jude may have taken an oath, but she’s beginning to think that when it comes to love, some promises might be worth breaking
****************************************************************************************************************************
Where can I start with this book? Well, simply put. I LOVED every word. Jude's father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, so she wants to restore his old bike, Valencia, in the hopes that he will remember some things and be able to go on a trip with Jude. The mechanic who can fix the bike for cheap is Emilio Vargas, a boy who she is forbidden to date by her sisters due to all the heart break caused by them. When Johnny Vargas broke her sister Araceli's heart before her wedding, her sisters created a book with blood and candles and oaths stating that no Hernandez was to date a Vargas, and filled also with other broken hearts. I cried when Jude put El demonio in the book, because it states how her father's disease is breaking her heart. It was sad to see Jude's father progress but even though, I still hearted it. I liked how Jude learned to not take stuff and to stand up to her sister's telling her what to do and what is best. She learns to follow her own heart, even if that might not be the best thing. Jude and Emilio's romance was very cute and not cheesy at all. In fact, I loved it so much that they are probably my favorite literary couples. I also respected Jude's decision to not get tested to see if she was going to be like her father when she is his age, because she doesn't want to dread it for the rest of her life. I also loved the story's behind all of her sister's name and Jude's name too. It was, as the title states, a heart breaking story, but it was also filled with love and hope.

With the clock ticking until the virus takes its toll, Rhine is desperate for answers. After enduring Vaughn’s worst, Rhine finds an unlikely ally in his brother, an eccentric inventor named Reed. She takes refuge in his dilapidated house, though the people she left behind refuse to stay in the past. While Gabriel haunts Rhine’s memories, Cecily is determined to be at Rhine’s side, even if Linden’s feelings are still caught between them.
Meanwhile, Rowan’s growing involvement in an underground resistance compels Rhine to reach him before he does something that cannot be undone. But what she discovers along the way has alarming implications for her future—and about the past her parents never had the chance to explain.
In this breathtaking conclusion to Lauren DeStefano’s Chemical Garden trilogy, everything Rhine knows to be true will be irrevocably shattered.
************************************************************************************************************************************************
The conclusion to the chemical garden trilogy was as happy as it was sad. After recovering in the hospital, Rhine goes to Lindens uncle Reed's house. I really enjoyed this character, and I thought Destefano did a good job showing how much polar opposites Reed and Vaughn were compared to each other. Rhine continues the search for her brother, Rowan, before something happens to him because of his reckless behavior, and later for her search for Gabriel. Cecily did alot of growing up in this book, and I was happy to finally really witness her character fully develop. You also learn more about Rhine and Rowans parents which I thought was interesting and well put. I also liked how in the end, you are left to decide whether Rhine's parents and Vaughn were justified in their actions. That was still a tough decision for me because of the cruel nature of the experiments done by Vaughn...and Rhine's parents...and even though some were crueler than others, you are left to wonder if the ends justified the means. You also learn more about Madame, who is another character who will also puzzle you in the end in whether she is cruel or just sad about her daughter. Destefano did a marvelous job in intertwining all of the characters to each other and in creating a world that is unique and original, one that can never be created no matter how hard someone tries. I finished this book very quickly because I was desperate to find out what happened but not desperate to end. I would have ended quicker but I kept stalling because I didn't want to say goodbye. The ending was very well said and not over done. I liked how no one had babies (any more than they had) or got married....so it is up to you to decide what really happens. Rhine is ultimately a character I will never forget, from her name, to her eyes, to her incredible strength (on the inside) that she has inside herself. It was truly a fantastic book, and an even better series, one that I was glad to read. Destefano is an artist with her words and from within her mind she creates a world so beautiful and heart-wrenching, that the praise I give it will not ever do justice.
And did you know that Linden Ashby is not just a character in these novels, but the name of an actor, more notably he plays Allison Argent's Father on Teen Wolf on MTV?

Perfect, picturesque Orchard Hill. It was the last thing Ally Ryan saw in the rearview mirror as her mother drove them out of town and away from the shame of the scandal her father caused when his hedge fund went south and practically bankrupted all their friends. Friends that liked having trust funds and new cars and friends that didn’t like constant reminders they had been swindled. So it was adios, Orchard Hill. Thanks for nothing.
Now two years later, Ally’s mother has landed a job back in the site of their downfall. Despite Ally’s new low key, happy life, it’ll be back into the snake pit with the likes of Chloe Appleby and Hammond Ross.
But then there’s Jake Graydon. Handsome, wealthy, bored Jake Graydon. He moved to town after Ally left and knows nothing of her scandal, but does know that he likes her. And she likes him. So off into the sunset they can go, right? Too bad Jake’s friends have a problem with his new crush since it would mean he could make Ally Ryan happy. And if anyone deserves to be unhappy it’s her.
Ally was hoping to have left all the drama in the past but some things just can’t be forgotten. Aren’t there more important things than money?
*********************************************************************************************************************************************
This book is told in the POV of Ally and Jake. I thought this book was pretty good, it had a gossipgirl vibe to it, and was a great beach read. However, I got annoyed of how naive Ally was at times, and she should have been more aggressive rather than passive. Jake annoyed me, but he was bearable. The book is mostly about how everyone hates Ally because her father did something with their money and screwed them all up. It didn't really go into detail about what happened, and I really hope that it is explained more in He is so not worth it, the next book in the trilogy. My favorite characters were Annie because I felt she was funny and interesting. However, it got annoying when Ally tries to become friends with the people who hate her. I was mad a Chloe too because apparently if they were best friends before, why wouldn't you try to make up? And the reason why she was made at Ally was stupid. She got upset because Ally kissed her boyfriend all the way back in the ninth grade... and the Idiot twins got on my nerves. Ok, Kieran Scott, I get that because they are branded the idiot twins that they are in fact, idiots, but she didn't have to make them so annoyingly stupid that it got on my nerves. The ending got me mad too, but I dont want to spoil it. The way she is so forgiving is aggravating too, and it aggravated me a little too much. Hopefully she grows a pair in the next book, or I will be royally pissed.
Im out, Maggie.

Hazel Stone wants nothing more than to be a part of the hottest clique in school, the Pretty Little Devils. When PLD queen bee Sylvia invites Hazel to one of the group's famous soirees, Hazel is thrilled--but popularity comes with a price.
*****************************************************************************************************************************************************
I read Nancy Holder before and I have to say.. I wasn't impressed. Her book that I read was written in poor taste and was a major major cliche, however---Pretty Little Devils was a murder mystery that had me guessing until the end! Even when you thought it was over, it wasn't! It held its grip on me until the very end and I finished it in only a day. It was told in the point of view of Hazel, the girl who want to become a PLD and eventually does. She quickly learns the ways of their group--purple scrunchies and babysitting jobs and their ever-so-famous pranks while watching the children. They pool together their babysitting jobs, and when ever they are sitting, someone pranks them good, followed by drinking the parents stash of alcohol. The group seems fairly innocent, until they start to get strange messages and phone calls and even emails, all threatening and creepy. It starts out with the killer killing--butchering animals, then he or <b>she</b> moves on to people. The PLD think that sticking together will keep them from being harmed from the psycho, but it turns out they can trust no one and no one is safe, not even the pretty little devils themselves.
So? Do you think you'll guess who the killer is? I have to say that I was very impressed with this book and Ms. Holder did a very good job keeping you guessing and intrigued until the last printed word upon the page. I think this would have been a great movie, and it did become one... But not under the name Pretty Little Devils.. Its called legacy, and is based on it, I suppose but it is nothing like it, From what I've seen from the trailer. Its rated R.. Which a movie about this book shouldn't be and it takes place in college and the names are entirely different... If you've seen that movie, don't blame the book! And don't watch the movie over the book, nothing beats a good beach read during the hot summer months.

They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.
But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.
**********************************************************************************************************************************************
Wow. I usually shy away from dystopian because I find most of them crappy, stupid, cheesy or all three. Delirium, however was a game changer. In Lena's world set in future America in Portland (Maine, mind you) Love is considered a disease that is easily cured with an operation done at the age of 18 or sooner if you are found to be infected. After this surgery, you are matched with a husband or wife and marry after college. Lena actually looks forward to her operation, wondering what it would be like, when something changes and she finds herself dreading the operation. Like every dystopian, Lena uncovers lies that will most likely lead to a revolution in the next two books. Delirium was a well, beautifully written novel that I highly suggest to anyone with a beating heart. Lauren Oliver never fails to disappoint and proves her talent in this breathtaking novel about love.

I don't know about you, but vampires and werewolves are so last year. The new trend is not bloodsucking hormonal sparkly teenage boys, or boys who turn into wolves, but aliens! No, not the host by the crappy Stephanie Meyer, I'm talking books like Obsidian By Jennifer Armentrout and Gravity by Melissa West (the second book is expected to come out in August!) and the upcoming book in February, Alienated by Melissa Landers.
Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.
Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.
Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.
But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.
Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.
Holy crap monkeys! Doesn't that sound amazing???? I cant wait until February!!!!! I don't know about you, but I am keeping a countdown till the release date!

When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something alarming enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that gets her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government “rehabilitation camp.” She might have survived the mysterious disease that’s killed most of America’s children, but she and the others have emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control.
Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones.
When the truth comes out, Ruby barely escapes Thurmond with her life. Now she’s on the run, desperate to find the one safe haven left for kids like her—East River. She joins a group of kids who escaped their own camp. Liam, their brave leader, is falling hard for Ruby. But no matter how much she aches for him, Ruby can’t risk getting close. Not after what happened to her parents.
When they arrive at East River, nothing is as it seems, least of all its mysterious leader. But there are other forces at work, people who will stop at nothing to use Ruby in their fight against the government. Ruby will be faced with a terrible choice, one that may mean giving up her only chance at a life worth living

The Darkest Minds is a relatively new dystopian novel written in December.<br />
Unlike other Dystopians "cough" Gone *Cough!!!* this book does not glorify that children are great and adults are evil, and even though it shows that, it doesn't say it..not really. I really loved this book. Ruby was such a well rounded character, but she didn't know/understand somethings which happened to her which I can get because she only has a fourth grade education.. There was one part of the book that I didn't like, when you read it you will see..actually two parts. the part near the end and the ending. the ending made me want to rip Alexandra Bracken amazingly intelligent head off! She is lucky there is another book coming out, or I would have died. Ruby's been through a lot despite her sixteen years of age, and she isn't whiny or hopelessly in love like most characters now a days. There was no insta-love either which was amazing because too many books have that and it pisses me off. You will cry and scream and swoon so be prepared!

You've seen the movies. Every teenage girl has at one point or another, I mean its a classic! Well, not really.. but we can pretend. But did you know it started as a book? I sure as hell didn't until I saw it at my Library's annual book-sale. Its about a girl, named Amelia "Mia" who finds out that her father is actually the prince of Genovia, and that he doesn't just work there. Because of his cancer, he can't have anymore kids, making Mia the sole heir to the Genovian throne.<br />
******************************************************************************************<br />
All she ever wanted was for her best friend's brother to notice she was
alive—and to pass freshman Algebra. But now that her dad's told her
she's heir to the throne of the country of Genovia (and that her
horrible Grandmere is going to be giving her princess lessons every day
after school) Mia Thermopolis has enough problems to fill a lifetime of
diaries....<br />
<br />
OK. This book was so funny and adorable! I loved it so much and I am definitely going to buy every other book in the series and read them all at once. But I noticed some differences between the book and the movie. Big ones. This is an example of "Hated the movie loved the book" except in this case its "Loved the movie loved the book even more"If you've seen the movies but haven't read the book, I implore you to do so!<br />

Thank you. You are very kind.”

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">While the name of the book is Easy, I found this book hard to read. The book starts when Jacqueline, who is most likely in her third year or second year of college is almost raped but saved. She doesn't want to call the police or anything because he was her ex-boyfriends roommate. What? Why? What does this show to girls? That everyone who gets raped shouldn't call police because they will be saved by some mysterious, hot boy?</span> Then she gets cornered by him again, and instead of screaming she says "Lets go to my room." as an attempt to run. How come, when she gets to the dorm hallway, she doesn't scream and yell "HELP! He tried to rape me!" Then she cries and moans about her ex Kennedy. THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED YOUNG ADULT! She is like, 20! Young adult should be 13-18 year olds! and it should have sex in it! This book was so stupid, I didn't understand all of the hype! Also, another girl is raped, and even though throughout the book everyone is like "It wasn't your fault" Blah blah, I absolutely believe it is Jacqueline's fault for not saying anything sooner.<br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; font-size: small;">Fans of romance don't need to look any further than the fauxmance brewing between teen idols Charlie Tracker and Fielding Withers-known on their hit TV show as Jenna and Jonah, next-door neighbors flush with the excitement of first love. But it's their off-screen relationship that has helped cement their fame, as passionate fans follow their every PDA. They grace the covers of magazines week after week. Their fan club has chapters all over the country. The only problem is their off-screen romance is one big publicity stunt, and Charlie and Fielding can't stand to be in the same room. Still, it's a great gig, so even when the cameras stop rolling, the show must go on, and on, and on. . . . Until the pesky paparazzi blow their cover, and Charlie and Fielding must disappear to weather the media storm. It's not until they're far off the grid of the Hollywood circuit that they realize that there's more to each of them than shiny hair and a winning smile.</span></div>

family might not be the closest-knit—everyone is a little too busy and
overscheduled—but for the most part, they get along
just fine. Then Taylor’s dad gets devastating news, and her parents
decide that the family will spend one last summer all together at their
old lake house in the Pocono Mountains.<br /><br />Crammed into a place much
smaller and more rustic than they are used to, they begin to get to
know each other again. And Taylor discovers that the people she thought
she had left behind haven’t actually gone anywhere. Her former best
friend is still around, as is her first boyfriend…and he’s much cuter at
seventeen than he was at twelve.<br /><br />As the summer progresses
and the Edwards become more of a family, they’re more aware than ever
that they’re battling a ticking clock. Sometimes, though, there is just
enough time to get a second chance—with family, with friends, and with
love</span><br />

This has got to be one of my favorite books of all time. Every thing felt so real. The emotions, the characters. Every word was a perfectly placed work of art. Taylor is used to running away from things, but one thing she can't out run is her father's dying wish to spend one last summer at the summer lake house they used to stay at every year up until Taylor was twelve. When she gets there, she tries to avoid her ex boyfriend/friend Henry, and her ex best friend, Lucy. At first, you don't know why they are mean to Taylor, but you find out why later on. The books shows flash backs from previous summers, and the story comes together beautifully. Taylor gets a job, and Lucy ends up working there too. At first she is an Ice queen, but then she warms up, and you get to love her. Henry was amazing too. You learn alot about him. There is enough drama/romance/heartbreak/loss/uncontrolableshakingsobbing to balance it all out. Prepare to bring the tissues!!!!!<br />

Generations ago, a genetic experiment gone wrong—the
Reduction—decimated humanity, giving rise to a Luddite nobility who
outlawed most technology.<br />
Elliot North has always known her place in this world. Four years ago
Elliot refused to run away with her childhood sweetheart, the servant
Kai, choosing duty to her family’s estate over love. Since then the
world has changed: a new class of Post-Reductionists is jumpstarting the
wheel of progress, and Elliot’s estate is foundering, forcing her to
rent land to the mysterious Cloud Fleet, a group of shipbuilders that
includes renowned explorer Captain Malakai Wentforth—an almost
unrecognizable Kai. And while Elliot wonders if this could be their
second chance, Kai seems determined to show Elliot exactly what she gave
up when she let him go.<br />
But Elliot soon discovers her old friend carries a secret—one that
could change their society . . . or bring it to its knees. And again,
she’s faced with a choice: cling to what she’s been raised to believe,
or cast her lot with the only boy she’s ever loved, even if she’s lost
him forever.<br />
Inspired by Jane Austen’s Persuasion, For Darkness Shows the Stars is
a breathtaking romance about opening your mind to the future and your
heart to the one person you know can break it.</blockquote>
**************MY REVIEW<3**************************************************** <br />
<br />
<br />
This book was so good. And her name is Elliot..how cool is that?<br />Elliot
lives in a world with posts and reductionists. They are the result of
an attempt by Gavin and Carlotta , two scientists who tried to be god,
who tried to make humans better. The result was humans who were mute and
who were forced to work on plantations with C.O.R who have normal
qualities ( they can speak) <br />Elliot needs money, so when she gets a
request from captain wentworth's fleet to rent her grandfathers boat
right estate, she takes the chance. little does she know that Captain
Malakai Wenthworth is her childhood love, Kai. The fleet comes with sun
carts, and they show abilities that are too good to be true. The book
contains letters to and from Elliot and Kai, which shows why Kai was mad
at her. When Elliot was 14, she was forced to make the decision between
love and all of the lifes on the plantation. This book was a sweet,
Jane Austen esque read, and I absolutely adored all of the characters,
even though some gave me the extreme urge to smack them.<br />

Farrah "Digit" Higgins may be going to MIT in the
fall, but this L.A. high school genius has left her geek self behind in
another school district so she can blend in with the popular crowd at
Santa Monica High and actually <i>enjoy</i> her senior year. But when
Farrah, the daughter of a UCLA math professor, unknowingly cracks a
terrorist group's number sequence, her laid-back senior year gets a lot
more interesting. Soon she is personally investigating the case, on the
run from terrorists, and faking her own kidnapping-- all while trying to
convince a young, hot FBI agent to take her seriously. So much for
blending in . . .</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Ok, where do I start?</div>
This seemed like a good book, but it was ruined with the main character's maturity of a five year old, and all of the eco crap. Obviously the author wrote this just so she could use a major/serious thing as a bombing to point out the problems of polluting. What message was she trying to show here? If you have enough money to have a giant jet, your going to get blown up by some crazy economist hippy?</div>
<div>
Not cool. There was also an unrealistic portrayal of teenage girls, which was so sad. She made them act brainless, obviously no one (I hope to god) is that stupid. She also had an obsession (Borderline crazytown) with bumper stickers... And to top it all off? An inappropriate relationship with 17 year old Farrah, and 21 year old FBI agent. SO not cool! Gross! </div>
